Back to School: On Purpose, With Purpose
The Dunlevy Milbank Community Center isn’t just a building—it’s a heartbeat in Harlem. For me, Milbank is personal. It’s the place that helped me find my own purpose when I was trying to figure life out. The kids there reminded me that showing up matters, that presence changes lives.
On Tuesday, September 17th, from 3–6 PM, we’re coming together to celebrate and equip our students for the school year ahead. We’ll have good vibes, community, and food/fuel provided by Glaze Teriyaki.
This back-to-school season, I’m asking you to be part of that heartbeat. Let’s make sure every student walking through those doors feels seen, supported, and ready to win this school year. You can pull up in two ways:
1️⃣ Donate your time — Come read to the kids, help with playing games, or just be a smiling face that encourages and believes in them. Sign up here!
2️⃣ Donate resources — We’re collecting school supplies and gift cards (Barnes & Noble, Costco, Amazon) so every student has what they need to start strong.
Small acts stack up. Your presence, your resources, your love—it all matters. Let’s give our next generation more than supplies; let’s give them the confidence to know they matter, too.
On purpose, with purpose.
